CLIPPER
II with dual Tone Controls
THE CLIPPER
is named for that specific time when a Tube Amplifier is operating
at its maximum, overdriving both the preamp and power tube
simultaneously.
The amplifier is then said to be in
'full clip'.
Single ended in design
and loaded with smooth, even order harmonics and the
singing sustain
that
can only be found in an amplifier of this type.
Over designed
in all aspects; beginning with an oversized power transformer, excessive DC
filtering and overbuilt cathode bias section to,
top of the line hand made tone coupling capacitors, carbon composition resistors throughout the
signal path, precision metal film power resistors and a hand made,
interleaved output
transformer wound directly on paper.
THE CLIPPER
is built with absolutely
the finest materials available on a very heavily Chrome
Plated Aluminum chassis. This amplifier is built with true
point-to-point construction . There are no 'tag boards'.
THE CLIPPER
is a PARAGON
model amplifier having all possible upgrades and options built into it.

hand made polyester/foil tone coupling capacitors.
These are the
absolute best! auricaps are sonically transparent. They take away or add nothing to
the sonic properties of the signal passing through them. You can really
hear
and feel the difference!
True Vintage Style Hand Made Output transformer.
This is one of the mightiest weapons in the arsenal of tone! Made the way
they were 'back in the days'.
The primary and secondary windings are interleaved and wound directly
over the iron core with only paper separating them from the core. No plastic bobbin factory job can sound
nearly as warm, harmonic and articulate.

Mil-Spec Potentiometers
These true, hot molded carbon
composition pots deliver better tone and will never get
'scratchy'.
They afford much better control
and sensitivity than
less costly carbon film potentiometers.
These will last a lifetime and are
rated at 100,000
cycles!.

Heavy Duty, 140ma output with a heavy iron
core, this power transformer delivers more power than the amp can ever

This transformer also has a
grounded copper
'flux band' that surrounds the windings eliminating noise.

Chrome plated Aluminum Chassis with Folding Chrome

A Line Out jack is provided
for direct injection recording, coupling to a mixing panel, slaving to another amp
or PA or for monitor headphones.
Both a 4 and 8 ohm outputs are
furnished.

amplifier that can only use one tube!
THE CLIPPER,
with it's heavily fortified power supply and
specially designed cathode biasing section, can use many different tubes.
This increases your tonal freedom by mixing and matching different types of
power, preamp and rectifier tubes for many different types of tone!
For
power, choose from 6K6, 6V6, 6L6, EL34, 5881, KT66, KT77, KT88
or
KT90.
That's nine different ones!
The output wattage will
vary from 3 to 12 watts
depending on the power tube in use.
For
preamp tubes, choose from:
12AT7,
12AU7, 12AX7, 12AY7, 12AZ7 or 5751.
For
rectifiers, choose from: 5Y3GT,
5AR4, 5U4G or 5V4G.
With Cathode self biasing
there's no adjustments to be made! Just plug in and play!
